Why do I RUN?

AND WHY YOU SHOULD RUN TOO…

Most people will say they run to maintain their weight, and that is one of mine, but it’s far down on the list.

Mostly so I don’t kill people 🙂 jokes! Kinda….. LOL

Running makes me a better person. For me, being outside and moving my body gives me a feeling of release. Any stress or anger that I am hanging on to, goes away after a good run. Running is known to release endorphins in the brain. Endorphins act as a natural “drug” that make a person more energetic, more awake and, yes, happier. (less homicidal)

When I’m running I also process my day, or the day before. I make lists, go over conversations. Basically it is my creative time. AND my me time…seeing as EVERYONE is home right now.

I love to explore new trails and running routes! I take many pictures while I’m running and my husband often teases me – asking if I’m really out running or just taking pictures out in the woods LOL!

Running can significantly improve physical and mental health. It has definitely helped me during this pandemic! Being able to go outside and run has kept me sane! As a form of aerobic exercise, running can reduce stress, improve heart health, and even help alleviate symptoms of depression. Some researchers think running may be so good for us because it’s something we evolved to do.

HERE ARE MORE 5 REASONS TO RUN:

  • WOMEN CAN REDUCE THEIR RISK OF BREAST CANCER BY 9%
  • RUNNERS WHO DO INTERVALS HAVE MORE FUN RUNNING
  • RUNNING FOR AN HOUR A WEEK CAN REDUCE THE RISK OF HEART DISEASE
  • RUNNING REGULARLY CAN ACTUALLY REMODEL THE BRAIN MAKING IT CALMER AND STRESS RESISTANT
  • RUNNING ONCE CAN INCREASE ENERGY AND DECREASE FATIGUE.

The last thing I love about running is, you don’t need any fancy equipment. Just a good pair of running shoes. You don’t need a gym membership. Literally lace up and go out the door!

THAT’S IT FOR ME….GOTTA RUN 😉
